What Is a DNMG Insert?
A DNMG insert is an ISO 55° diamond, 0°-clearance, M-tolerance, double-sided turning insert with a fixing hole and chipbreaking geometry. Its acute diamond profile improves access for profiling and shoulder work compared with an 80° insert, while two corners per face provide up to four indexable cutting corners when the holder and chipbreaker permit both faces to be used.

Why can DNMG be less robust than CNMG at the tip?
The 55° included angle provides better access but leaves less carbide behind the cutting corner than an 80° diamond, so edge preparation and cutting load require closer control.
What holder approach information is needed for DNMG selection?
Provide holder designation, hand, lead or approach angle, intended cut direction, and profile drawing to confirm access and avoid holder or trailing-edge interference.
How should 1504 and 1506 thicknesses be compared?
Seat compatibility must be checked first; the thicker 1506 format can support different load requirements but cannot be substituted solely because IC is the same.
Can DNMG make a back-facing cut?
Only if the holder geometry, hand, clamping, clearance, and toolpath are designed for that direction; send the operation sketch for confirmation.
