What Is a ADMT Milling Insert?
ADMT milling inserts have an 85° parallelogram base outline, nominal 15° clearance, M-class tolerance and a single-sided fixing-hole configuration. The documented positive-insert platforms are used for face and side milling in matching cutter bodies. The 0602, 10T3 and 1204 sizes have different body and seat dimensions and must be selected from their complete drawings rather than from a shared family name.

ADMT Milling Insert FAQ
How should a screw-seat contact mark be evaluated?
An uneven or edge-only contact mark can indicate an incorrect screw head, damaged countersink or contamination. Compare the clamping components with the approved tool drawing.
Can increasing torque correct insert rocking?
No. Clean and inspect the support surfaces and clamping hardware. Excess torque can damage the screw or insert without correcting the seat mismatch.
Why can corner chipping start only at the workpiece exit?
Inspect exit support, burr formation and the direction of force as the tooth leaves the material. Cutter offset, path and local feed may matter more than the average load.
How can a replacement be measured without confusing edge length and body length?
Use the drawing datums and report each measured feature by its symbol. Do not compare an overall length with an effective cutting-edge length as though they were identical.
Should an insert with a damaged unused face be retained?
Inspect whether the damage reaches a support pad or crack-sensitive area. An unused cutting edge is not sufficient reason to reuse an insert with compromised seating or integrity.
What helps trace a recurring problem after a batch change?
Retain samples and lot identification from both batches, then compare seating repeatability, edge preparation, runout and wear under the same controlled trial conditions.
